Former professional sprinter Oscar Pistorius was found guilty of murdering his then-girlfriend, model Reeva Steenkamp, on Valentine's Day (February 14, 2013). Today (February 14) marks 11 years since the model's death. Here are five things you should know about its beauty.

1. She was killed on Valentine's Day 2013
Reeva Steenkamp was the girlfriend of sprinter Oscar Pistorius. On Valentine's Day 2013 (February 14), Pistorius shot and killed Riva. According to the BBC, the man fired four shots through the locked toilet door.
Pistorius said he mistook her for a burglar at his home in Pretoria. Pistorius has completed half of his sentence and is preparing to apply for a parole hearing in 2023.

2. Reba was 29 years old when she was murdered.
She was just 29 years old when she was shot by her then-boyfriend.
3. She worked as a paralegal
According to Discover Walks, Reba worked as a paralegal. She reportedly applied for admission to the bar in 2011, and she hoped to become a qualified legal advocate by the age of 30.

4. She was also a model
A paralegal, she began her modeling career at the age of 14. She appeared as a cover girl and model for her FHM magazine. She was also the first face of Avon Cosmetics in South Africa.

The model was born in Cape Town but grew up in Port Elizabeth with her parents.
