Dan Corder is bidding farewell to the 5FM radio station after three years hosting the Breakfast Show.
The radio personality plans to pursue a career in television this month after being presented with the opportunity.
“I am very sad to be leaving 5FM, a dream radio station that I never thought I would be lucky enough to work for. The past three years have been amazing and I have been very lucky,” Corder said.
“We've created a show that means so much to me. I travel all over the country, meet incredible listeners, interview celebrities like Ed Sheeran, and explore the gritty daily life of South Africa. I have shared it with the entire country, and I am deeply grateful for all of it.
“Most of all, I'm grateful to the team. Zori and Marli who have been there since the beginning. Tabo and Ayoubu who joined later. Before them, Masapelo and Nick. It's rare that a show is an expression of true friendship. This show is built on that bond.”
Dan talked more about the radio station.
“I’m really looking forward to seeing where 5FM goes next. This station has always been unique in South Africa. That’s brave. Always innovating and pushing the boundaries. That comes with risks. Giving young people the opportunity to make magic happen.
“5FM is full of talented, hard-working, thoughtful, caring, and smart people who are going to do this job. I can't wait to hear the excitement.”
