Buckingham Palace has confirmed King Charles III's cancer diagnosis and has postponed royal duties.
Britain's King Charles III has been diagnosed with a type of cancer and has begun treatment, Buckingham Palace announced Monday night.
Buckingham Palace said in a statement that other concerns were noted during the 75-year-old monarch's recent hospital surgery for an enlarged prostate.
“His Majesty today began a regular treatment schedule, during which time doctors have advised him to postpone official duties. During this period, His Majesty will continue to carry out his State and official duties as normal,” the Palace said. Stated.
Diagnosis revealed to dispel rumors
It added that the king decided to make his illness public in order to dispel rumors and raise awareness of cancer patients around the world.
The palace said the king “remains completely positive” and “looks forward to returning to full official duties as soon as possible.”

The king added that he was grateful for the quick intervention of the medical team, which was made possible by the recent hospital procedure.
Last week, the king was discharged from hospital after undergoing surgery for enlarged prostate.
Buckingham Palace said in a statement: “The King has been discharged from hospital this afternoon after completing scheduled treatment and has rescheduled all future royal duties for a period of private recuperation.”
Duchess Kate left hospital last week
Kate, Princess of Wales, also returned home after undergoing surgery last week.
Ms Middleton, 42, was hospitalized for two weeks after abdominal surgery.

“The Prince and Princess would like to express their huge gratitude to the entire team at the London Clinic, especially the staff who provided such dedicated care,” the royal couple said on their social media pages.
The Princess of Wales is expected to return to royal duties only after Easter.
Middleton was admitted to the same clinic where his father-in-law was also treated.
King Charles was reportedly “very concerned” about the Princess of Wales after abdominal surgery.
