Rehan Ahmed says it's thanks to Ben Stokes' leadership that young British spinners are flourishing in India.
Ahmed, Tom Hartley and Shoaib Bashir have collectively taken 26 wickets across two Tests, despite having only played one Test before the tour.
They have more wickets than India's experienced batting line-up despite playing against the best batsmen in the world in their respective conditions.
“This shows how great the team environment is,” said Ahmed, 19.
“Tommy and Bash, it’s a credit to the team that they played the game without getting nervous.
“The environment and the leadership that we have makes us forget about the players we're playing against. We just focus on what we have to do.
“They are [Stokes and head coach Brendon McCullum] Don't worry about how bad things get. It's always about what you get out of it.
“So if you bowl four bad balls and get a wicket, that’s better than bowling 16 good balls in a row.”
Ahmed has taken eight wickets in the series, followed by 24-year-old Hartley with 14 and 20-year-old Bashir with four.
The series is tied at 1-1 with three matches remaining to be played, starting with the third Test in Rajkot on February 15.
Ahmed also highlighted Stokes' decision to give him and teammate Bashir, both of whom practice Islam, time off for Friday prayers as an example of his shrewd people management.
“I remember when we had a team day off on Friday in Abu Dhabi,” Ahmed said. “We had Friday prayers. Obviously me and Bash.” [Bashir] was there.I sent a message to Wayno. [Wayne Bentley]the team manager asked if he could miss this day because he needed to pray.
“Stokes messaged me right away and said, 'Anytime you want to know about this kind of thing, come to me, I totally understand it.' And so Yes, he stands by his word.
“Every time I pray, he's so respectful and understanding. We're all on this tour.”
On the field, one of the reasons why England's young spin attack is doing so well is the performance of wicketkeeper Ben Foakes.
Foakes had six catches and two stumpings and Ahmed believes the Surrey man is one of the best players in the world.
He was left out of the squad for the Ashes match last summer, but returned to the squad for the India series with Jonny Bairstow playing as a specialist batsman.
“I've never seen anyone as good as him,” Ahmed said. “I think he's the best goalie of all time.”
All three of Ahmed's Test appearances have been with Foakes, making his debut against Pakistan in Karachi in December 2022.
“He practices very hard. I don't see him miss the ball. I can't even explain how good he is,” leg-spinner Ahmed added.
“Some of the prey [in the second Test] He came into the match with 80-90 overs. Even though it's very hot and humid, he still catches those types of prey. ”
Bumrah tops bowling rankings
Jasprit Bumrah became the first Indian male pace bowler to top the world bowling rankings after his Player of the Match performance in the second Test against England.
The 30-year-old, who helped India win the series with 9 wins and 91 losses, replaced Ravichandran Ashwin at the top of the ICC rankings.
Bumrah is the fourth Indian player to top the rankings after spinner Ashwin, Ravindra Jadeja and Bishan Bedi.
England seam bowler James Anderson, 41, moved up one place to seventh after taking five wickets in the second Test.
Joe Root has the highest score of 29 after four innings in the series, but he fell one place in the batting order to third place.
