South Africans are mourning the first anniversary of the death of Keenan Forbes, popularly known as rapper AKA.
Although his life ended tragically, his last day was a happy one, including a meal with his closest friends.
On February 10, 2023, AKA and his friend Thebelo Tibbs Motsoane were shot dead outside the Wish on Florida restaurant in Durban. He was reportedly on his way to a performance at nightclub Yu-Go.

Aka's final days: Who did he spend his time with?
Earlier in the day, Keenan Forbes posted on his Instagram Stories about his day in Durban, which included a haircut at Bride & Groom Barbershop on Florida Road.
Without her usual Durban bodyguards present, AKA headed to Wish on Florida, a restaurant owned by friends Philani Boyama or Benny Maverick.

according to Tsusa liveJoining him for his “last meal” were friends Don Design, Scorpio Siya, Lusasa “Saso” Ngcobo and DJ Feel. He also happened to meet his old friend Thebelo “Tibbs” Motsoane, who had come to Durban for his birthday party.
“Where I go, you go too,” AKA told his friends as he lowered his shot.

Keenan Forbes' last Instagram post
Meanwhile, AKA's last Instagram post on the day of his death was promoting his album. mass country, Released posthumously. In the post, the rapper revealed a behind-the-scenes look at the recording studio.
