Scomota's wild celebrations after Bafana's equalizer broke the internet
South Africa were awarded a penalty in the 90th minute and were unable to break the deadlock in extra time, with Mokoena scoring a shocking goal to tie the game on penalties.
But back home, thousands of people praised the team's efforts to get this far in the tournament. It was the first time in 24 years that South Africa had reached the semi-finals.

Bafana Bafana will play their final Afcon match today against the Democratic Republic of Congo for the bronze medal. Social media is abuzz ahead of the match between the two sides after Skomota's wild celebrations against Nigeria went viral.
In a video currently trending, Skomota joyfully celebrated his 90th game-tying goal. He could not hide his joy and excitement. Fans immediately flooded social media with their two cents.

Many were sure they had never seen him so happy. Others, however, beamed with pride at the wild celebration.
Mangaliso Mangi Sinethemba commented: “I wonder how he felt when he was dancing against Tunisia 🤣🤣.”
Katlego Amanda said, “At least the man was happy. Next time, don't worry.''
“He seemed very happy,” Ingisani Matonsi said.
