AKA's friend and brand manager Mahalatse Sethole aka Zazboy paid tribute to the rapper (real name Keenan Forbes) on the first anniversary of his death.
On February 10, 2023, Forbes and his friend Thebelo Tibbs Motsoane were shot dead outside the Wish on Florida restaurant in Durban. He was reportedly on his way to a performance at nightclub Yu-Go.
Before the fateful shooting, AKA enjoyed dinner with close friends, including Don Design, Scorpio Siya, and Benny Maverick.

AKA friends remember friendship on first anniversary
Zazboy, who is responsible for marketing all of AKA's gigs, posted a touching tribute on his Instagram Story. This is what was written there: “Our lives have changed forever. February 10, 2023.”
He also posted a photo of himself with both Forbes and Motsone with the caption, “We love you brother.”
Za's Boy later posted a clip of him visiting Keenan's grave at West Park Cemetery.

Forbes was also remembered by his childhood friend Sizwe Mpofu-Walsh, who posted a photo of the rap group Entity.
“Rest in peace, Keenan,” he tweeted.
Musos L-Tido and Khuli Chana also remembered their longtime friend and industry colleague on their IG Stories.

Meanwhile, AKA's friends Don Design, Scorpio Siya, Lusaso “Saso” Ngcobo, and Wish on Florida owner Benny Maverick have yet to address the first anniversary of their friend's death. .
