The power went out late Saturday night, just after the Big Brother party.
Mzansi Magic says the 14-hour communication outage during Big Brother Mzansi was caused by Eskom's Stage 6 load shedding.
The reality TV show resumed airing on Sunday.
“Mzansi Magic is aware of transmission losses on the Big Brother Mzansi channel, channel 198.
“Due to Stage 6 load shedding, back-up power generation has been affected and the production team is working hard to increase back-up power generation so the program can resume broadcasting,” the channel said in a statement on Sunday. .

The power went out late Saturday night, just after the Big Brother party, and power was restored at 11:45 a.m. the next day.
Nothing was broadcast during that time.
“We would like to reassure our viewers that special safety measures have been put in place to ensure the safety of the housemates and are under Big Brother's watchful eye,” the statement further reads. There is.
Mzansi Magic had just communicated on Sunday, so viewers were curious about what happened during the power outage.
“Oh come on, the channel has been down for over an hour. Seriously, guys are missing…whatever the problem is, are you trying to fix it?” @niggas_in_prys wrote to X.
The channel has been down for several hours, with no word on what's actually going on. If you're not biased, you're sleeping on the job. Any slight respect for the viewer would be a slap in the face.

Oh come on, the channel has been down for over an hour. Please think seriously. My friends are gone. Are you trying to solve whatever the problem is?

Eskom's predicament
South Africa has experienced a higher level of load reduction since Thursday's State of the Union Address (Sona).
At a press conference on Sunday, Power Minister Kgosiensho Ramogopa blamed Eskom's increased maintenance for the catastrophic Stage 6 power outage and promised to lower the load shedding stage next week.
The minister said about 4,400 megawatts had been shut down due to boiler tube leaks in the days leading up to the 2024 Sona Games and also on Friday.

“Essentially, there are nine units contributing to 400 400, and these are big units. Each one is providing more than 600MW of power,” Ramogopa asserted.
“Two of these nine units have returned. We will see a significant reduction in the shedding phase by Wednesday.” He said Eskom management was working directly with boiler tube equipment manufacturers to resolve the issue. It added that it was working to “cut out the middlemen.”
