Comedian and television personality Morfo Pops has been announced as this year's host of the Savannah Comics' Choice Comedy Awards.
Mpho has hosted several award shows in the past, including the South African Film and Television Awards (Saftas).
Speaking about hosting the 11th Savannah Comics Choice Comedy Awards, Mpho said everyone needed to play their part to move South Africa forward.
“Like our country, our comedy infrastructure has been in a bit of jeopardy for some time, so everyone has to step up and help rebuild the framework of comedy. It was.
“South Africa is much the same. We all have to play our part to move this country forward. , we thought it was time to lovingly give back to that in a way that was both endearing and comedically brutal,” he said.

The Savannah Comics Choice Comedy Awards will be held in April
By theme Think you know South Africathe awards ceremony will be held on Saturday, April 13th at the Lyric Theater in Gold Leaf City.
The ceremony will feature performances from notable comedians including Celeste Ntuli, Haneesa Bunu and Robbie Collins.
Winners in each of the 12 prestigious award categories will perform five minutes of stand-up in lieu of an acceptance speech.
Kayla Hendricks, senior brand manager for Savannah Premium Cider, said this year's theme resonates with the spirit of Savannah Premium Cider.
It added: “Like the comedians celebrated with this award, Savannah uses humor to provide a crisp and witty perspective on what is happening around us.
