Airlink will reintroduce its seasonal 'Bush & Beach' route in July this year.
This route connects Vilanculos (Mozambique) with Kruger Mpumalanga International Airport (Mbombela) and Johannesburg.

Seasonal routes will operate on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays from July 1, 2024.
These flights will continue until January 5, 2025 and will be operated by Airlink's Embraer Regional Jets.
This new seasonal service will complement Airlink's daily direct flights between Johannesburg and Vilanculos throughout the year.

Connection between bush and beach
The reopened route connects three important African destinations on tourists' itineraries. The Airlink route will connect Vilanculos, Mbombela and Johannesburg.
Mbombela is the gateway to the world famous Kruger National Park. Conveniently located near private hunting lodges and spectacular locations such as God's Window, Burke's Luck, the Three Rondavels and a variety of scenic waterfalls.
Vilanculos is a popular beach holiday destination and the gateway to the Bazaruto Islands. It is famous for its idyllic beaches, marine life, restaurants, variety of accommodations, fresh food markets, and arts and crafts.

International tourist flows are beginning to return to southern Africa.
This follows years of low tourist arrivals brought on by travel restrictions implemented during the Covid-19 pandemic.
The resumption of Airlink services will benefit the tourism industry as it will provide an opportunity for tourists who want to experience Africa's wildlife and pristine beaches.
