The South African Weather Service has issued a heat wave advisory and fire danger warning for several areas across the country.
Shock-based warning
A level 1 yellow warning has been issued for severe thunderstorms that could cause flash flooding, damaging wind gusts and damage to structures along the Overberg and Garden Route coasts in the Western Cape.
A level 2 yellow warning has been issued between Cape Agulhas and Port Alfred for winds and waves that could cause small boats and watercraft to be submerged and capsized.
Fire hazard warning
Very high fire danger is expected in Gauteng, Limpopo, Mpumalanga and the city of Walter Sisulu in the Eastern Cape.
