Montpellier captain Leni Nousi says it was an “unforgettable” day playing against two-time World Cup-winning South African captain Siya Kolisi in the top 14, made even more special by the 44-20 victory over Racing 92. He said it has become something.
Nouchi led his side for the first time on Saturday, with wingers Ben Lam and Gabriel Ngandebe, loose forward Nico Janse van Rensburg, scrum-half Kobus Reinach and prop Christopher Trofa scoring five tries.
It was Montpellier's first away win in the top 14 this season.
“I wanted to win, but in style,” No. 8 Nouchi said. “I couldn't have dreamed of anything more as I got a bonus point in my first game as captain.
“I didn't really think I was playing against Siya Kolisi. I wanted to focus on my game. But I'll remember that. It was amazing.”
Toulouse were the biggest winners of the day, defeating Oyonnax 61-34 despite missing a number of players on Six Nations duty.
Toulouse brought on Paul Grau in place of scrum-half Antoine Dupont and the 26-year-old shone with four of the champions' nine tries.
Stade Français maintained their lead with a 32-19 win over Perpignan, with Mathieu Yrigoyen and Rory Cocotte scoring vital tries in the final 15 minutes.
Two-time European champions La Rochelle lost to Lyon 28-17, missing out on a chance to break into the top six.
