Seven-time European champions AC Milan shocked underdogs Monza as the hosts scored twice in a frenetic finish.
Milan, who had Luka Jovic sent off, fought back from a 2-0 deficit with an 88th-minute volley from Olivier Giroud and a goal from Christian Pulisic.
However, goals from Warren Bond and Lorenzo Colombo in added time gave Monza their first Serie A win over Milan.
Mateo Pessina put them ahead with a penalty and Danny Mota made it 2-0 just before half-time.
The shocking loss to the small club from the northeastern suburbs of Milan means Stefano Pioli's side remain in third place, two points behind second-placed Juventus and 11 behind leaders Inter.
Inter won 4-0 at Salernitana on Friday, but Juventus dropped two points with a 2-2 draw with Verona on Saturday.
In Sunday's other Serie A matches, fortunes were mixed for both Roma teams as Roma won 3-0 at Frosinone, but Lazio lost 2-1 at home to Bologna.
After winning the first leg 3-0 at home, Milan will face Rennes in the second leg of the Europa League knock-off play-off on Thursday.
Unless Milan suffer a crushing defeat on Thursday, they will advance to the last 16 of the tournament. Opponents for the next game could include Liverpool, West Ham United and Brighton.
