before saying We know how amazing the Oppo Find X7 Ultra camera is, but we have to point out that this phone is not officially available outside of China. This is a real shame, because the Find X7 Ultra is a great flagship phone with an eye-catching design, gorgeous display, and top-notch specs. But the standout feature is its camera. It far exceeds most people's expectations for a cell phone camera and is a real joy to take pictures with.
The battle for the best camera hardware in a smartphone remains fierce, and the Oppo Find X7 Ultra wants a place in the competition alongside the best from Samsung and Xiaomi. This high-end smartphone takes camera hardware to a new level with a periscope lens for powerful optical zoom and a large image sensor to make the most of limited light.
camera crazy
Please excuse the spec dump here. The rear camera has four 50-megapixel lenses. The main lens features a 1-inch Sony LYT-900 sensor, f/1.8 aperture, 23 mm focal length, and optical image stabilization (OIS). The Ultrawide is equipped with a Sony LYT-600 sensor, f/2.0 aperture, and 14 mm focal length, allowing you to focus on subjects as close as 4 centimeters (1.6 inches).
There are two periscope lenses for zooming. The first offers 3X optical zoom and features a 1/1.56-inch Sony IMX890 sensor, f/2.6 aperture, OIS, and 65 mm focal length. The second offers 6x optical zoom and is equipped with a 1/2.51-inch Sony IMX858 sensor, f/4.3 aperture equivalent to a focal length of 135 mm, and OIS.
To get the best results from this hardware, Oppo developed the HyperTone Image Engine and partnered with camera manufacturer Hasselblad. There's Hasselblad Portrait mode, which allows you to use bokeh effects and various photo filters, and Hasselblad Master mode, which allows you to shoot in RAW and adjust ISO, shutter speed, EV, focus, white balance, and many other settings.
Daytime photography is great, and the Find X7 Ultra gives you well-exposed, detailed shots that are close to true-to-life color accuracy. Colors are well matched across the lenses, you can achieve a pleasant and natural bokeh effect even without using portrait mode, and the main and ultra-wide lenses have deep depth of field. Oppo says its image processing prevents over-sharpening and maintains natural colors, but I disagree.
