Duduzile Ramela: You've probably heard these words: JavaScript, HTML, CSS, Python, and, no, not snake, but jargon. These words are often restricted to a select few. If you've always wanted to know more about this field, but because of what you've studied so far, you thought it might not be for you, don't worry. Turning to a career in coding isn't as scary as you might think.
Mvelo Hlope is the CEO of Zaio. He joins us to get tips on how to get into and stay in the coding world. Mr. Muvelo, thank you very much for your time this afternoon. What is coding?
Mbelo Hope: Hello Dudu, thanks for having me. Coding is generally a language used to talk to computers and to program and create results within computers. So use it to create your application. Used to create a website. So we basically talk to the computer to be able to generate those things.
Duduzile Ramela: And we have real examples of people with very interesting backgrounds coming into this field, whereas before it was probably thought to be the preserve of a select few. I can't talk to computers, but it's actually much easier than we think.
Mbelo Hope: Oh, sure. I think it's a misconception that a certain background is required. Even at school, it was necessary to study certain subjects. We are told to make these decisions when we are 15 or she is 16 or even she is 14 and then it determines the rest of our lives.
But no, diving into the world of coding is definitely possible. Once you do it, it's very easy and anyone can do it.
Duduzile Ramela: Understood. If it's that simple, please explain steps A, B, and C.
Mbelo Hope: There are multiple tutorials. I think what we do specifically at Zaio is we offer free coding courses that you can take to first figure out what you really want to do is code. Is that something you're considering as a career for yourself? Then I'll post that there are other courses that are more in-depth that you can take on a more advanced basis.
Here you have access to instructors who can help you through the coding process. Once you've finished coding, you'll earn certifications and certifications to help you land your first job interview.
Duduzile Ramela: What if I want to become an entrepreneur in this field?

Mbelo Hope: Indeed, there are quite a few people who decide to go down the path of self-employment. So, everyone understands that these days most businesses have to go online. So whether you're an entrepreneur, running a store, selling products, baking products, selling products, you need some kind of online presence. is required.
So, if you want to have an e-commerce website, learning how to build a website and coding to be able to sell products through the platform and the website you build is the best option for you.
Duduzile Ramela: Understood. Mvelo, as we try to understand coding, artificial intelligence, this, AI comes into play, how do you think the introduction of this will impact the area of coding?
Mbelo Hope: Most of all, it helps developers and the people who can write code do their work more efficiently. Therefore, AI is not coming to replace developers.
AI is emerging as a tool that developers and those learning how to code can use to do real-world tasks more efficiently.
So it's not a threat or a threat to their job, it's a companion.
Duduzile Ramela: Mr. Mvelo Hlope, CEO of Zaio, thank you very much for joining us this afternoon.
