Soundbar and streaming device deals
Want to improve the sound on your TV but don't have the space? The Roku Streambar is adorable and petite, but it has true stereo sound. It also has a built-in Roku streaming player, so you can get great sound from both on one device and Gain better control over your streaming. you're welcome. Read our best soundbar guide for more recommendations.
At WIRED, we're big fans of Roku's streaming interface, and Roku's streaming stick lets you add it to your existing TV. This is a slightly cheaper version of our favorite model (Stick+) and is currently on sale. This price is common, but it's still a good price to get a 4K Roku stick. Check out our Best Roku Devices Guide for more options.
The Samsung HW-Q990B (8/10, WIRED Recommend) is the best soundbar we've found for emulating classic home theater sound. It has a whopping 15 drivers, great audio processing, and the ability to bounce sound around the room. It also comes with wireless Dolby Atmos, so you don't have to connect the surround speakers and subwoofer to anything other than a power outlet. It's an expensive system, but now it's a little easier on your wallet.
This system comes with five small speakers and a compact under-the-couch subwoofer, but it's still very easy to use. Platin Audio 5.1 (8/10, WIRED Recommended) uses WiSA technology to stream and sync audio from the pack connected to your chosen TV screen or projector. Each speaker requires power but does not need to be connected to each other. Very simple and affordable, even before this weekend's sale.
TV and projector sales
Roku's Plus series not only has great images and great colors thanks to its QLED panel, but it also incorporates Roku's Smart TV interface (which we're big fans of). It's a great cheap TV with full array local dimming, but the low refresh rate makes it unsuitable for gaming. Still, it's a nice, easy upgrade for movie night without the need for an additional streaming stick.
Vizio's TVs are great, and we like that the M-Series Quantum X (8/10, WIRED Recommends) has better leg placement than other similarly priced TVs. It's worth noting that Walmart announced last week that it would be acquiring Vizio, so there could be some changes to Vizio's lineup soon.
This is our favorite projector. It's bright enough for rooms with lots of light, the image quality is great, and it's easy to set up. When connected to a gaming computer, it can also handle games at a 240Hz refresh rate, making it ideal for streaming sports at the same refresh rate. It is also convenient because it is compatible with Alexa. This projector often goes on sale at this price, but rarely for less.
This projector is completely portable, making it perfect for indoor and outdoor movie viewing. All you need to do is make sure you have Wi-Fi available in your backyard. It comes with built-in speakers, a smart TV interface, and a cute little remote control. It's easy to set up and focus thanks to a slider on the top of the projector, plus it can project a 120-inch screen at 450 lumens (for night viewing only). This sale price isn't the first of its kind, but it's still a solid deal.
