Last week, social media was ablaze with posts about slain rapper Keenan “AKA” Forbes. It comes after seven suspects were arrested this week in connection with his murder. The 35-year-old man was shot dead outside Wish restaurant in Durban on February 10 last year.
While many have expressed their thoughts on the latest developments in the case, controversial poet and activist Ntsiki Mazwai has decided to remember Anele “Neri” Tembe.
Her post sparked a heated debate over AKA and Neri's death.
Ntsiki Mazwai remembers Anele Tembe as AKA murder case unfolds
Ntsiki Mazwai was never one to keep his mouth shut. The controversial poet has fallen on hard times many times, but he continues to share his thoughts and opinions in public.
Last year, Ntsiki ruffled feathers after sharing her thoughts on AKA's death.
Mazwai wrote on Page X that AKA's death was the result of his late fiancée Neri Tembe's “fight from the grave”.
He added that Neri, who allegedly jumped from a hotel window in Cape Town, had to fight for herself because people are drawn to celebrity.
Activists shared tributes to Anele this week after various reports revealed that seven suspects in AKA's murder had been arrested.
“You have no idea what he has done to me,” Ntsiki wrote, quoting what Anele said about AKA before her death in 2021.
“We will always remember you, Anele Tembe…May your family find peace and forgiveness,” she wrote.

The post sparked a heated debate over AKA's death and whether he should be held responsible for Anele's death.
“We all know exactly what happened. Whatever her family did after her death, in my opinion it was justified,” one person said, while another added: Ta.
“I still wish they never met. I wish AKA had chosen a celebrity closer to his type, his level.”
