Mark Lawwell has stepped down as Celtic's head of first-team scouting and recruitment after two years.
The son of Celtic chairman Peter Lawwell comes from City Group and worked closely with former Celtic manager Ange Postecoglou.
However, recent transfer activity has led to criticism of the recruiting team.
Celtic have announced that Rowell and first-team scout Joe Dijon will be stepping down to “pursue new challenges”.
Mr Celtic said: “Mark and Joe will be taking a gardening holiday.''
Brendan Rodgers has expressed his frustration at the lack of quality reinforcements in the squad since his second return as manager, but added: “As part of the club's recruitment team, Mark and Joe have joined Celtic. “I have worked tirelessly to bring success to the company.”
Chief executive Michael Nicholson added: “Everyone at Celtic would like to thank Mark and Joe for their contribution and dedication to the club and wish them every success in their future endeavors.”
Mr Rowell spent 10 years at Citigroup, rising to the role of head of scouting and recruitment within the global organization, including Manchester City, Girona and Yokohama F. Marinos.
He worked closely with Postecoglou at the Japanese club and followed the Australian to Celtic Park in the summer of 2022.
However, Postecoglou moved to Tottenham Hotspur last summer, and Lawwell has now left the Scottish champions.
