The 2024 World Athletics Indoor Track and Field Championships continued on March 2 in Glasgow, Scotland at the Emirates Arena. Like the first day, events are split into sessions, the morning and afternoon.
The day started with the men’s long jump finals as Miltiadis Tentoglou, a 2020 Olympian from Greece, won gold. The Heptathlon began as well as semifinals for the 800 meters and heats for the 60 meters.
The afternoon session will start at 2:05 p.m.
On Day 1 of the meet, Christian Coleman won the Men’s 60 meter championship and with a word leading time of 6,41 seconds. Meanwhile Ryan Crouser continues his dominance in the shot put, winning gold with a throw of 22.77.
Canada’s Sarah Mitton, a 2020 Olympian, won gold in the women’s shot put with a season best throw of 20.22.
The meet closes on Sunday, March 3 and is the first major world track and field meet of the year as athletes have an eye on the Paris Olympic Summer Games and the qualifying meets before them.
American athletes qualified for the event in February.
