According to a recent blog post, Microsoft is “excited to introduce some useful new features” to Copilot Preview for Windows 11.
TechRepublic adds, “Most features will be enabled by default…rolling out from today through April 2024.”
Windows 11 users can change system settings through prompts typed directly into Copilot in Windows. Currently, you can access his Copilot preview via the taskbar icon or by pressing Windows + C. Microsoft Copilot can perform the following actions:
– Turn on/off battery saver.
– Display device information.
– Display system information.
– Display battery information.
– Open the storage page.
– Launch live captions.
– Start Narrator.
– Launch screen magnifier.
– Open the voice access page.
– Open the text size page.
– Open the contrast theme page.
– Activate voice input.
– Show available Wi-Fi networks.
– Show IP address.
– Show available storage.

Other new AI features in Windows 11 rolling out today include a new AI-powered Generative Erase tool, reminiscent of Google's Magic Eraser tool for Google Photos. Generative Erase allows users to remove unwanted objects and artifacts from photos in the Photos app.
Similarly, Microsoft's video editing tool Clipchamp has added a silence removal tool. As the name suggests, this tool allows users to remove dialogue and audio gaps from video clips.
Voice access is another focus of Microsoft's latest Windows 11 update, detailed in a separate blog post by Windows Commercial Product Marketing Manager Harjit Dhaliwal. Users can now navigate between multiple displays using voice controls, and now have a number and grid overlay to easily switch between screens.
The Copilot icon is already starting to appear on the taskbar of some Windows systems. Searching for “Microsoft installs CoPilot Preview Window” on Google will add helpful suggestions such as:
