Did Jocelyn Smith sell?
IOL reported on Tuesday, March 5, that police had arrested the suspect suspected of selling 6-year-old Jocelyn Smith.
The publication adds that the suspect taken into police custody was someone close to Jocelyn.
Reliable sources told the magazine that the suspect allegedly confessed to selling the girl to an African woman for about R20,000.
“He was arrested. He said he sold her to an African woman,” the source said.
Police were not available for comment and could not confirm the R20,000 at the time of publication.
Search for missing child continues
Jocelyn Smith, a 6-year-old Saldanha Bay girl who went missing more than two weeks ago, shows no signs of being missing, eNCA reports.
Smith's father, Jose Emke, believed the mother of Smith's child and her boyfriend were hiding something and wanted police to question them again.
Police say neither the mother nor her boyfriend are central to the investigation at this stage.
Patriotic Alliance (PA) leader Gayton McKenzie has announced a R100,000 reward for anyone with information about his whereabouts.
