Barcelona moved into second place in La Liga with a 1-0 home victory over Mallorca thanks to a superb late goal from teenage winger Lamine Yamal.
The visitors looked set to frustrate Barça, but Ilkay Gundogan saved a penalty in the 24th minute.
The 16-year-old Yamal hit the crossbar early in the second half, but was able to finish off a superb shot from inside the box.
Barça are now within five points of leaders Real Madrid, who host Celta Vigo on Sunday.
They are unbeaten in eight games in all competitions, moving two points above Girona before hosting Osasuna on Saturday.
Barça, whose coach Xavi was suspended for his touchline attack, got off to a good start, but winger Rafinha was clipped by defender Jose Manuel Copete inside the box.
Summer signing Gundogan came forward to take Barca's second penalty, but the German midfielder's side-footed shot was saved low to the left by Serbian goalkeeper Predrag Rajković.
After Yamal hit the woodwork with a powerful curling attack, Marc Giu was denied by Rajković and Barça brought on Vitor Roque and Robert Lewandowski just after the first hour.
Roque missed a great opportunity with a header, but Ramal exchanged passes with Lewandowski outside the penalty area and created enough space to fire a sharp shot past Rajkovic inside the far post.
It was Lamar's sixth goal of the season, who became Barça and Spain's youngest scorer at the beginning of the season, and his first since scoring two goals during the season. 3-3 draw at home against Granada last month.
