Miss World 2024: The 71st Miss World pageant to be held at Geo World Convention Center is scheduled to begin in Mumbai on Saturday, March 9. India will be represented by 22-year-old Sini Shetty. This beauty pageant will be held in India for the first time in over 20 years. In the past, several women from India have won this competition, including Reita Faria Powell, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Diana Hayden and Manushi Chhillar.
The last time this acclaimed beauty pageant was hosted by India, in 1996, Irene Skriva of Greece won the Miss World title. Here is the complete list of Indians who won the Miss World title once in her lifetime.
Leita Faria Powell
Leita Faria Powell was the first woman of Indian, or indeed Asian origin, to win the prestigious beauty pageant in 1966. She was a medical student at the time she entered the contest.
Aishwarya Rai Bachchan
Bollywood diva Aishwarya Rai Bachchan created history in 1994 by winning the Miss World crown. This made her the second Indian to wear that crown. Although she continued her education in architecture, she dropped out of university because she was interested in acting and modeling. After winning her Miss World, she appeared in many Bollywood superhit movies and also acted in Hollywood movies.

In 1997, another Indian won her third Miss World title. She was Diana Heiden. Hayden, who graduated from the London School of Economics, is the best example of “beauty with brains.” At the 1997 Miss World pageant, she impressed the judges with her intelligence and confidence.
Yukta Muhei
Yukta Moohei from Mumbai became the fourth Indian to win the Miss World title in 1999. She was born on November 2, 1979. She was educated at St. Her Joseph Convent High School in Mumbai. She also has a certificate in Computer Science and a degree in Zoology.
priyanka chopra jonas
Indian girl Priyanka Chopra needs no introduction as her career in Bollywood and Hollywood speaks for itself. The Citadel actress won the Miss World title in 2000, making her the fifth Indian woman to wear the crown. She was born on July 18, 1982 in Jamshedpur, Jharkhand, India. She has an army background as her mother and her father were doctors in the Indian Army. She did her schooling in Lucknow, after which she enrolled in Jai Hind University.
Manushi Chhillar
The latest Indian to win the Miss World title is Manushi Chhillar. She brought her crown back to India in 2017. Her mother and her father are both doctors and she was pursuing MBBS during the Miss World pageant. She began her acting career after winning her crown of Miss World.
