Cricket South Africa (CSA) on Tuesday announced the appointment of Dr Hashendra Ramsey as its new Chief Medical Officer (CMO).
Mr. Ramjee succeeds Dr. Shuaib Manjra, who served as CMO from August 2019 to March 2024.
CSA said in a statement that Ramsey will oversee medical operations. “From injury management to preventive care to conditioning across the nation's men's and women's pipeline.”. He will also work with talented leaders to oversee CSA's designated medical staff.

Ramsey was also the medical officer for the first two editions of the popular SA20 event and served as the Proteas men's team doctor from 2019 to 2023.
He was with the SA men at the 2021 and 2022 T20 World Cups and the 50-over World Cup in India last year.
Prior to joining the national team, he was actively involved with the domestic Titans and has also gained extensive experience in various sports, including serving as team doctor for Kaizer Chiefs Football Club since 2015.
Ramsey holds a Bachelor's degree in Medicine and Surgery from the University of the Witwatersrand and a Master's degree in Sports Medicine from the University of Pretoria.
