Visvin Reddy takes on Tiktok dance challenge
In a damning video, Visvin Reddy threatened that “South Africa will shut down” if MK Party leader Jacob Zuma is barred from future elections.
In footage filmed while speaking at a rally in Chatsworth on March 3, Reddy reportedly said:
“So these courts are sometimes captured. If they stop the MKP, there will be anarchy in this country. There will be riots like we have never seen in this country. There will be no elections. If the MKP is not on the ballot paper, no South African will vote.”
As a result of the video, the National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) charged Reddy with inciting violence, in violation of the Mob Assembly Act No. 17 of 1956.
Reddy briefly appeared in court on Wednesday, April 3, and the case was transferred to the Durban District Court. The next one is scheduled to appear in June.
NPA KZN spokesperson Natasha Kara said Reddy was released with a warning.
But the 53-year-old appeared to give his critics the middle finger in another video, this time a TikTok dance challenge.
Wearing an MK Party T-shirt, Visvin Reddy performed the Come Does dance, which had previously become popular among ANC members.
He captioned the clip: “After court today. Please try again, ANC.”

Origin of “Come Does”
according to Bonathe Come Duze challenge began after a video went viral of an unidentified man wearing an ANC shirt dancing to Vetkuk, Mahoota and DJ Maporhira's song Bula Nthweo.
This trend was later adopted by young people and the 'Ama2000s' who performed dance challenges wearing fashionable outfits in party colors yellow, black and green.
“Zuma will become president”
Visvin Reddy's angry outburst comes amid the MK Party's decision to challenge the IEC's decision to bar Jacob Zuma from standing in the election.
The Election Tribunal is expected to issue a ruling next week based on its findings, according to the Daily Maverick. The IEC will then publish the final party list for voting on April 10.
Zuma was previously sentenced to 15 months in prison for contempt of court in a corruption case.
Despite his failing health and criminal history, the MK party has maintained that Mr Zuma is fit to lead the party.
Chairman Jabulani Khumalo said: EWN: “Mr Zuma will be president, but there is no case against Mr Zuma. They have been trying for years to put him in jail. They failed because he was an outspoken person. They like Zuma will become president whether we like it or not.”
Mr Khumalo's claims came amid reports that the ANC was unsuccessful in its bid to have the party deregistered. The ruling party claimed that the opposition party did not meet formal registration criteria.
