Karoobewoners, Weskusbewoners, Laeveldbewoners is the predecessor of Vrystaatbewoners, an ongoing documentary series on kykNET.
To understand a place thoroughly, it's usually best to first get to know its people.
This is the kykNET documentary series Vrystaatbewoners I went to shed light on the Free State province and its people.
“Every corner had a story waiting to be told. From the busy streets and small towns of city centers to the quiet stretches of farmland,” said series director Ian Martin.
The 13-episode documentary, whose title translates to “Free State Residents,” premiered on the first Thursday of April.

The series takes viewers into the daily lives of the people of the Free State.
One of them is the story of Joseph Posein, known in his neck of the woods as the Pothole Killer.
Potsane walks the 100km road between Bultfontein and Bloemfontein in a wheelbarrow, creating a safe route for users.
Marietch Krauser, a woman who gave up a career in finance to make cheese, is another story the series zooms in on.
“Vrystaatbewoners” “This is more than just a documentary series, it's a journey of discovery and compassion, and a celebration of the human spirit,” Martin added.
Vrystaatbewoners It's part of a travel documentary series by the channel that shines a spotlight on parts of the country that usually don't get the attention or places people don't often drive through.
Last year, kykNET celebrated the Lowveld region with a 13-part series. Labeled Winner, debuted in January 2023.Before that, the channel had Caroube winner and wexbe winners series.
Throughout the series, kykNET collaborated with insurance company BrightRock.
