Virginia Commonwealth University ranks 10th in the top 50 in the newly updated U.S. News & World Report Graduate Program Rankings released today. This brings VCU's current total number of places in the magazine's top 50 graduate program rankings to 22, including online graduate programs.
VCU's latest rankings include six schools in the top 25 for their category and two in the top 10: Nurse Anesthetist (No. 6) and Homeland Security (No. 6). Two schools – Pharmacy (tied for 19th) and Education (tied for 25th) – earned overall top 25 rankings. Not all program areas have their rankings updated every year.

The School of Education had two spots in the top 25 rankings, including general education (tied for 25th) and special education (tied for 19th). Dr. Kathleen Rudashill, interim dean of the VCU College of Education, said the overall ranking places the school in the top 5.5 percent of her 456 schools surveyed in that category.
“Our research achievements are particularly impressive. In the latest rankings, the School of Pharmacy has moved up from 20th to tied for 19th place.
