your father is probably I'm not going to complain about any gift you give him. For better or worse, many modern fathers don't pay much attention to presents. You know that meme of an older bearded gentleman with the same shirt he's wearing open and a goofy grin on his face? There's a lot of truth to that. But I'm not only a father and a gear reviewer, but I'm also a human being with a certain philosophy about what makes a good gift for a middle-aged man like me.
You'll notice that there are several threads running inside this manifesto Guide: The best gifts for dads are not only related to his interests, but also the ones that go 'over the top'. Dads tend to like things that are over-made but convenient. I'm sure there are some dads out there who want to be pampered, but the ones who cringed when they read this are not me or the dads I know.
I guess one idea is that when it comes to gifts for dad, you can hardly go wrong with an expensive but good version of something we use. We especially like things that are admired by our peers. As a father, nothing makes me happier than when a man his father's age looks at his stupidly expensive tire pressure gauge and says, “Oh yeah, my kid bought that for me.” It's a bit pricey, but I have to say it always works great. ”
