Britain's Beth Potter won the SuperTri-E World Triathlon Championship in London on Saturday, securing her second world title in seven months.
Potter, 32, defeated world No. 1 Cassandre Beaugrand in the indoor competition.
Katie Zaferes of the United States took third place at the London Aquatics Center at Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park.
Potter won her first Women's World Triathlon Championship Series title in Spain in September.
Now, her 2024 campaign is off to a good start, with bigger goals on the horizon.
At the London competition, competitors cycled on static bikes, ran on treadmills and swam in a 50-metre pool.
“Today was my first game of the season so I wasn't really sure where I was at, but I'm really happy to have won today,” said the Scot.
In the women's final, 10 athletes competed in three stages: 200m swimming, 4km cycling, and 1km running.
Potter completed the stages in 11:53, 12:09 and 12:07.
Potter and Frenchwoman Beaugrand have both qualified for the Paris Olympics and are among the favorites to win triathlon gold this summer.
“It was still early in the season and I wasn't racing but everyone else was racing and I didn't know where I was,” said Potter, who is ranked second in the world.
“I don't do much sprinting. I'm concentrating on long distance running.”
