Forum 4 Service Delivery (F4SD) has expressed confidence in being represented in the Limpopo provincial parliament following the May 29 general election. The Forum is contesting elections in six states and across the country in the upcoming polls.
F4SD conducted a voter recruitment campaign in Mankweng, a suburb of Polokwane.
F4SD is an amalgamation of smaller political parties that are primarily represented in the parliaments of various local governments across the country. In Limpopo City, the forum has councilors in municipalities such as Letaba, Giyani, Lepele Nkumpi and Molemole. Candidates in the state are confident they can leverage their presence in these municipalities to rise to the state Legislature.
F4SD Limpopo premiership candidate Johannes Mphahlele explains: Our people across the state are on the ground telling people about this job shortage, including discrimination in hiring restrictions. So this issue, water scarcity, is very, very important. ”
F4SD believes its plan can solve South Africa's service delivery challenges.
F4SD Secretary-General Masego Kodisan said they would open fire.
“As the name says, we are Forum 4 Service Delivery. We are a community movement, 80% service delivery and 20% politics. To the people of Limpopo, we as a Forum , I heard that Limpopo belongs to the ANC, so they say they are coming with guns blazing. How can Limpopo be with the ANC when we have people sitting on unemployment and service delivery challenges, especially water? “How can we say that we belong to the ANC? Water is life. If we don't give water to the people, then why should Limpopo be proud of belonging to the ANC?”
Some F4SD supporters who participated in the campaign hope the party will bring about change.
Maite Mashatour says the community is tired of waiting for job opportunities.
“We're going to get services like jobs. They're going to provide jobs and employment opportunities, not just wait for jobs that don't know where they're going to come from. We're going to create them. , I have a lot of business ideas.”
Mathule Motapo, another F4SD member, said the government was not providing services to the people.
“We now think the problem is that the government is not providing services to the people. From a perspective, we argue that people should have everything they need.”
F4SD will contest elections on May 29 in Limpopo, Mpumalanga, Gauteng, Free State, Northern Cape and North West.
