Everton have lodged a formal appeal against them. Second deduction BBC Radio Merseyside understands that there was a breach of Premier League financial rules.
At an appeals court in February, the Toffees' 10 point penalty was reduced to six points for the three-year period from 2021 to 2022.
The latest appeal process must be completed by May 24, five days after the final Premier League match.
