The Forbes family has distanced itself from an upcoming book by journalist Melinda Ferguson about their late son “Alias'' Keenan Forbes.

No approval
Tony and Lynn Forbes said they do not support Mr Ferguson's new book and have distanced themselves from reading it.
“We have no connection with Melinda Ferguson's book and do not endorse it. We distance ourselves from the content of the book. When Melinda contacted us, we respectfully I justifiably declined her contribution to the book.

“We cannot comment further on this book as we do not know its contents. However, we feel that the intent and timing of this book's publication is offensive and opportunistic.”Tony said Lin.

Ms Ferguson said writing a forthcoming book detailing the relationship between AKA and Anele had taken a toll on her.
“I've never worked so hard on a book before. I've never been so taken aback by a story. I've never been so secretive, but this news just leaked on social media.” .So here it is from the horse's mouth,'' Ferguson wrote in a Facebook post on Thursday, April 11.
“My new book hits shelves next week. It's been a really tough journey leading up to this. It almost killed my own relationship. It's a story that tore my heart out,” the author concludes. I did.
Tembe died on April 11, 2021, when he fell from the 10th floor of Cape Town's Pepper Club Hotel during a weekend stay with AKA, who was scheduled to perform at iPiep Lifestyle Lounge.
Her family disputes the National Prosecuting Authority (NPA)'s autopsy findings that she took her own life.

AKA and her friend Thebelo 'Tiz' Motsoane were beaten to death while standing outside Wish Restaurant on February 10 last year.
Surveillance camera footage was widely shared showing the shooting incident on Florida Road that claimed the lives of AKA and Tibz.
A total of seven suspects were arrested in connection with the murder. The state government said it has evidence that the men arrested for AKA's murder had planned how she would be killed.
