Britain's Emma Laducane continued her strong comeback with a straight-sets win over Angelique Kerber in the first round of the Stuttgart Open.
Raducanu was hardly bothered by the former world number one, winning 6-1, 6-2 in one hour and 26 minutes.
It was the 21-year-old's third win in a week after helping Great Britain defeat France in the Billie Jean King Cup at the weekend, winning both matches.
Raducanu will face Linda Noskova (Czech Republic) in the next round.
“It was very difficult to play Angie because she has so much history,” said Laducanu. “You're not just playing Angelique Kerber, you're playing someone who has achieved all these amazing results.
“It wasn't the prettiest match, but I just focused on the next point and didn't get too bogged down. So I'm glad I was able to get through it.”
Both players entered the tournament as wild cards, but Raducanu has dropped to 303rd in the world rankings after undergoing surgery on both wrists last year.
Meanwhile, three-time major champion Kerber only returned to the tour in December after an 18-month absence following the birth of her first child.
Raducanu broke serve three times in a dominant first set and led 6-2 in just 41 minutes before breaking in the first game of the second set.
The 36-year-old Kerber was able to break back quickly, but then he began to tire and a more confident Raducanu reeled in four games in a row to seal the victory.
