Taylor Swift is ready to release her long-awaited record “The Tortured Poets Division'' on Friday. This is the megastar's 11th studio album, which is already having a blockbuster year.
Swift announced the album's release at the Grammy Awards in February, the same night the 34-year-old billionaire won Album of the Year for a record-breaking fourth time.
And with the album scheduled for release in the US on Friday at 6am SA time, the artist could be on track for his fifth release.
Since her shocking announcement, her loyal Swifties have continued to dissect tracklists, guest appearances, hints, and comb through fan predictions.
The story of “Tortured Poets'' is said to be about former British actor Joe Alwyn, whom Swift dated from 2016 until they broke up about a year ago.
Alwyn (“The Favourite”) and fellow actor Paul Mescal (“Normal People”) will join “The Tortured Man” in 2022, which also included Andrew Scott (“Fleabag,” “Ripley”) He revealed that he was in a group chat titled “Club.”
Swifties believes Queen's album title is likely a reference to that text circle, and the Instagram caption she wrote to coincide with the record's initial social media promotion is certainly a reference to her implies that he intends to spill the tea.
“All is fair in love and poetry…” she wrote. “New Album THE TORTURED POETS DEPARTMENT”
Prior to their disbandment, Alwyn was credited as a songwriter on several recent albums under the pseudonym William Bowery.
Taylor Swift has already revealed the tracklist, which includes titles such as “Down Bad,” “So Long London,” “I Can Fix Him (No Really I Can),” and “The Best Ever”. Includes “Little Man.''
Post Malone and Florence and the Machine will also make cameos on the album.
“Shake the world”
Swift has made an award-winning habit of eviscerating former lovers in her songs, including lyrical takedowns of John Mayer and Jake Gyllenhaal.
Her current boyfriend, Super Bowl-winning NFL tight end Travis Kelce, is already praising the new album.
“I've heard some of it, but it's unbelievable,” he told reporters in February.
“I can't wait for her to rock the world when it finally comes crashing down.”
Swift has already spent the past year touring her first billion-dollar tour, along with an ongoing series of Elas concerts, breaking countless chart records and surpassing Frank Sinatra to earn more annual hits than anyone else. He became the artist who won the Outstanding Album Award. Stevie Wonder and Paul Simon.
Top the charts with Beyoncé
Born December 13, 1989 in Pennsylvania, Swift began writing songs professionally as a teenager and was signed as a country artist to Big Machine Records in Nashville.
After a public battle with Big Machine executives over ownership of her first six albums, by which time she had fully embraced pop, she decided to replay those early albums in order to own the rights. I made the cunning and risky decision to record it.
It paid off, delighting her loyal fans, adding a new Swiftie to her ranks, and earning her newfound respect within the industry.
With 'The Tortured Poets Division', she's positioned to make waves again, but she'll likely face stiff competition from the likes of Beyoncé and Billie Eilish next awards season.
Beyoncé recently released her album “Cowboy Carter” Honky Tonk. This album is an electric, statement-making record that once again cemented her status as an era-defining artist.
But Queen Bey broke that record on March 29, providing a chart cushion that allowed both her and Taylor Swift to emerge victorious, whether intentionally or not.
These two reigning stars often go head to head as rivals, but they themselves have never hinted at it, instead taking steps over the years to dispel that notion.
They'll almost certainly be competing for the top spot at next year's Grammys, and Recording Academy darling Billie Eilish will release her third album, Hit Me Hard and Soft, on May 17th. I plan to.
But these extremely wealthy, extremely talented, conversation-leading artists emphasize that at the end of the day, it's all about the music.
Writing her next album “reminded me of why songwriting actually helps me live my life,” Swift told fans at a recent show.
“I've never had an album that required more songwriting than Tortured Poets.”
