Manchester City striker Erling Haaland is doubtful for Saturday's FA Cup semi-final against Chelsea.
Haaland was substituted late in Wednesday's Champions League quarter-final defeat to Real Madrid on penalties.
City manager Josep Guardiola said after the game that the 23-year-old had been asked to leave.
As for whether Haaland will be available to face fellow Premier League side Chelsea at Wembley, the Spaniard said: “We'll see.”
“It was a tough match. There was a lot of action, high intensity on both sides. Erling felt something, felt a muscle problem. That's why he told me he couldn't continue.”
” [doctor] He's had a little problem, he said he's had a little problem, but we'll see how he evolves over the next few hours.
City midfielder Kevin De Bruyne also requested suspension for the game against Real, but should be fit to play.
“Kevin was out for five months with an injury, so he looked very tired.'' [earlier on in the season]So that's normal,” Guardiola added. He has defended the sale of forward Cole Palmer to Chelsea in the summer.
“That's normal considering the number of games we're playing this season… They're humans. They're not machines. We're used to it.”
City will be looking to bounce back from being eliminated from the Champions League when they face Chelsea.
“We have no other choice,” Guardiola said. The team is at the top of the Premier League with six games remaining. “I don't want us to feel sorry for ourselves.
“In soccer, you sometimes lose games. We tried our best, but we couldn't win. We have to accept that.”
Pochettino hopes City exit will benefit Chelsea
Chelsea manager Mauricio Pochettino could bring back midfielder Enzo Fernandes and winger Raheem Sterling from injury and illness respectively, having lost to Liverpool in the Carabao Cup final earlier this season.
Pochettino hopes City's struggle against Real will work in his team's favor.
The Blues have drawn 4-4 and 1-1 with City in the league this season.
“We know very well that when you play 120 minutes in the Champions League, the effort is huge. And emotionally, it's not always easy to bounce back after a loss,” Pochettino said. .
“Obviously it's going to be tough for them as well as for us, but we have to remember that they have an unbelievable team.”
