Starlink has decided to discontinue its service to long-term users in South Africa at the end of this month, but the service provider is not giving up hope.
Representatives of two companies that import and manage Starlink subscriptions on behalf of a number of South African customers said options may be available to continue accessing satellite internet services.
This comes after Starlink sent a message to users stating that it would cut off service to users operating in areas where it does not have a license. The Independent Communications Authority of South Africa (Icasa) also issued a gazette notice late last year officially stating that the use of its services in the country is illegal.
