Former ANC vice-president Clema Motlanthe said party rules could be triggered as Sports, Arts and Culture Minister and ANC member Gigi Kodwa faces money laundering charges. .
According to media reports, the National Police Agency is investigating Kodwa over allegations leveled against him at the State Capture Commission.
According to the commission's report, Kodwa received more than R174 000 from embattled businessman Edwin Sodhi.
The commission also said Mr Kodwa was beholden to businessman and former EOH executive Jehan Mackay.
In 2022, Kodwa denied this and indicated he would submit the report to judicial review.
Addressing the media during the ANC's election campaign in Soweto, Mr Motlanthe said the party would ensure a fair and just process was followed.
“The ANC has clear guidelines and rules.
