Democratic Alliance (DA) leader John Steenhuisen told party supporters around Kuruman in the Northern Cape that he was appalled by the living conditions of Magodjanen residents.
The DA was campaigning in several villages in the state ahead of the May 29 general elections.

He says voters should remove the current ANC government. The DA leader said his party intends to use the template of governance in the Western Cape to change the lives of people in the Northern Cape for the better.
Steenhuisen said the party wants to increase its popular support beyond the 24% it achieved in the 2019 election.
“We've had 30 years of promises, very little action, election promises, very little fulfillment. People will come and say the electricity will come, but once the election is over, They say we are bringing in jobs, but after the election, the jobs will go down. But this election, the parties that can bring about change will be on the ballot. It is stated…but all political parties do is talk.”
