African National Congress (ANC) President Cyril Ramaphosa is campaigning in Kara, Eastern Cape province, where residents are expected to voice concerns about issues such as high unemployment and crime rates in the region.
Mr Ramaphosa will be accompanied by ANC national chairman Gwede Mantashe and the party's regional chairman Oscar Mabuyane.
Ramaphosa is scheduled to visit the church, St. John's Faith Mission. The area is characterized by a number of problems caused by a lack of infrastructure, and the church secretary describes it as highly crime-prone.
The community would like the ANC president to consider some of the issues or strategies to address the crime problem in Kara.
