Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) leader Julius Malema campaigned in Mtata, Eastern Cape province, accusing the provincial government of failing to provide basic services to poor rural communities.
Malema also met with the controversial King of Aba Thembu, Buelekaya Dalindyebo.
EFF leaders were welcomed with chants. He says the EFF was a solution to many of the challenges facing South Africa.
“We need to create jobs, our road infrastructure must be in good condition, water and electricity supplies must be reliable. Without facilities, we can't have a village here in OR Tambo. No one wants to invest in an area they can't access, and we have to build industries and open up industries that don't have jobs.”
Mr Malema said mud schools and pit latrines would be eradicated under the EFF government.
“Here in the Eastern Cape we have mud schools, but there are no toilets and learners relieve themselves in the bushes. That is not right. Under the EFF, learner safety is paramount and learners are fully The quality of education will be improved and no one will have to pay school fees or uniforms.
Those who attended the meeting say there were many issues that needed to be resolved.

One supporter said: “We have a problem with stock theft, we don't have jobs, the level of education here is low, so we want the EFF to take care of all of this under its rules.” says.
Another said: “We don't have jobs and we have a lot of problems. I hope this party will address those challenges because eff is mainly the young people are our children.” So we're hopeful and maybe things will change.”
Abathembu King Buelekaya Dalindyebo accompanied the EFF leader and supported him.
King Buelekaya Dalindyebo said: “We have a capable leader in Julius. We want him to seize power and move forward with Malema! Forward! No one but Julius Malema can lead this country. .”
Mr Malema will also undertake a two-day expedition to the western half of the state, ending in Gkebela.
