Sixty60, Shoprite's on-demand delivery service for its Checkers brand, is piloting a new version of its app. This will enable customers to purchase his over 10,000 large products in the Hyper division, from small appliances to household appliances.
South Africa's largest retailer aims to disrupt the on-demand space once again, just as it did with the first release of its app, using a new delivery van to deliver to customers in 60 minutes. We will continue to offer same-day delivery within the framework.
Shoprite, which announced the changes on Friday, will expand its product offering beyond groceries, from camping and outdoor gear to small appliances, baby products, toys, kitchen and appliances, and gardening and pool supplies at supermarket prices. He said it has now expanded to include larger items.
Delivery is free during the beta testing period and will continue to be free for Xtra Savings Plus subscribers, the company said.
The new app is currently available to customers living in the Quills River, Brackenfell, Durbanville, Belleville, Goodwood, Edgemead, Gardens, Sea Point and Camps Bay areas of Cape Town.
Shoprite said that similar to the initial release of Sixty60 in 2019, the national rollout will follow a phased approach following beta testing to ensure a seamless customer experience.
“We are confident that the next Sixty60 will once again disrupt online retail in South Africa. With our precision delivery promise, you will no longer have to wait at home all day for your general merchandise order to arrive. .”
Chief Neil Schreuder said: “Customers will now be able to select the 60-minute time slot they would like Hyper to deliver to, giving them the same minute-by-minute driver tracking they're used to when ordering groceries.” said. He spoke about Shoprite's strategy and innovation in a statement.
