Television star Nonkaniso “Lakongko” Konko recently shared details of her close relationship with former South African President Jacob Zuma on social media.
In a series of Instagram Stories, Raconco told her love story over the years, from how they met, to her pregnancy, to the birth of their baby boy.
Looking back on their early days, she said they started dating in 2010 and they dated for four years before getting engaged.
“We created a bubble and lived in it. People around me knew I was in love, but they didn't know who I was in love with. He His circle also felt my presence. Some dug and found my photos. Others waited until he was ready to introduce me,” she said.
Laconco said her life during this period was filled with frequent travel. She further added, “I was flying every week and staying in hotels. Sometimes I would only see you for 30 minutes, but that was enough.'' At this stage, loyalty to my values and principles My heart was tested.”

Raconco vividly remembers the day of the lobola negotiations. It was a private event shared only between family members.
“Even in between meetings, he would always call me to express his excitement. I felt like I was in a dream all day. I couldn't eat, but I made everything. I was the negotiator. I'll never forget the words of one of them: “Mom, you raised her well. We've never met a woman like that.”
She said she received a phone call from Mr Zuma in November 2016 with a serious request. She said, “I remember coming home from work and him saying, 'You need to find a symbol so everyone knows you're someone's fiancé, Ntombi.'
“He said we had to look for a ring. We started looking for a ring. We also looked at options in Cape Town and Pretoria, but Durban was the perfect choice for me.”

Laconco emphasizes that remaining a virgin is a personal decision and not necessarily for marriage.
“I never felt pressured after he paid lobola. When the baby dance was ready, it happened. His position was never on me and I never questioned my place in his life. He loved me loudly behind closed doors,” she said.
Ms Raconco said Mr Zuma was the first person to witness her pregnancy. She said: “My breasts were the first sign. He told me I was pregnant. Oh, I was pissed…He said there was a bridge that would connect us forever. It was cancer. I thought I was actually pregnant.”

Raconco revealed the baby's gender in April 2018, saying it was a boy named Sakaumuzi.
“He told me the gender didn't matter, but when he found out it was a boy, he thought so.” [overjoyed]. He named him Sakamji, which means “We are building a house.” ”
