Lady Du dedicates the post to thank her social media followers and non-followers alike.
The South African singer further revealed that although he has no video to prove his claim, he has been in the music industry for 22 years.
“I've been in the music business for exactly 22 years!!!! I started when I was 9 years old, before social media was available and I only have the pictures to prove it. I have never changed who I am since then. The best way to live life is through God. I have had so many people give me advice on how to run my brand, how to carry myself, what my social media should be, how my brand should not be attached to clutter.”
Doe spoke about working with Brando and how she has relied on God throughout her musical journey.
“I’ve worked with the biggest brands, I’ve appeared on billboards in SA, New York and London, I’ve even appeared in ads for Levi’s overseas and been the face representing so many brands but I’ve never changed myself. I’m an artist who follows God’s law, I don’t care what the industry is like, I care how God sees me. I don’t have a problem with confidence and I definitely have no lack of confidence. My dream is not to look like anyone else but to be like myself. I bless everyone and celebrate everyone.”
The Amapiano star further revealed some of the rules that have guided her.
“Learn not to lean to your own understanding. Surrender your life to God. For the past two years, I have been in charge of myself and doing everything on my own. There were some scammers, some who stole from me, there are still some who exploit us, some who build things for themselves without paying us and take royalties. But I stood strong and built myself with everything I had. When everyone around me was buying luxury brands, I put my head down and said I will build a lifestyle-creating legacy for myself, I will not climb that rock.”
“I've never felt pressured, I've never followed trends, I've never looked at other people's plates or coveted what other people have. If you are my follower, please know that nothing you see on my social media is actually me. There is nothing here for “content”, everything here was taken by my family on my phone. ”
She concluded her note with words of encouragement to her supporters.
“I've used everything in me to build a name for myself and make it a success. Believe in yourself! Believe in your dreams and it's ok even if they seem small to others. You're not doing it for yourself, you're doing it for someone else!!!!! I'm grateful!!!!! I love you all with all my heart!!!!!!”
