The Democratic Alliance (DA) will hold its final election rally today, which the party says is both a celebration of the progress it has made throughout the election campaign and an acknowledgement that the DA will continue to fight for the people's issues.
The rally is taking place today at Willowmore Cricket Stadium in Benoni, east of Johannesburg, and leader John Steenhuisen will also be using the rally to deliver a key message.
Official opposition national spokesman Solly Malatsi said the party had already held a series of rallies in the provinces and today's rally would mark the culmination of the party's election campaign activities.
In his final appeal to urge people to vote for the party, Malatsi said: “Our manifesto summarises the issues that affect every South African, which is why we have named it the 'South African Rescue Plan'. It is also to inspire one last rally from the DA Leader, House Secretary and the leader here in Gauteng to get their neighbours, relatives and colleagues out to vote.”
Among other items listed in its manifesto, the DA promises to build on the track record it has already demonstrated in governing the Western Cape.
The company is committed to developing solutions to create more jobs, improve safety and security, and address the ongoing energy crisis in the country.
