Rail passengers in Cumbria have been advised not to travel after a train derailed.
A derailment near Shap on Wednesday is causing disruption between Carlisle and Oxenholme Lake District.
Avanti West Coast, which operates the affected routes between Preston, Glasgow and Edinburgh, said all services north of Preston would be suspended on Thursday and warned passengers not to travel.
Further disruption was caused by a landslide in the Corbridge area in the early hours of Thursday morning, with Northern Railway switching to buses for trains between Newcastle, Hexham and Carlisle.
The incident was resolved at around 8am BST.
Disruption continues on the line between Oxenholme Lake District and Penrith.
An Avanti West Coast spokesman said: “Please refrain from travelling on our flights between Preston and Scotland today.”

TransPennine Express said its services were also affected by the derailment.
A spokesman said: “Due to extremely limited rail services and the lack of access to road transport, passengers travelling in both directions between Preston and Glasgow Central, and between Preston and Edinburgh, are advised not to travel.”
Network Rail said it was working to remove the derailed train.
The spokesman added: “We apologise to passengers whose journeys have been affected whilst we work to re-open the route as soon as possible and safely.”
