Crystal Tlali's recent condition has caused a stir on social media after a video went viral showing her looking emaciated and disheveled.
The former lead singer of the Soweto Gospel Choir is known for his mesmerizing and soul-stirring performances of the song. Next time we look forward to.
After losing her job in Gauteng, Crystal reportedly returned to her home in QwaQwa in the Free State but developed an addiction to alcohol which is affecting her.
The singer's mother, Manini Tlali (57), told Jimoja in an interview that she wants her daughter back.
“She is a talented young woman and is good at what she does. I am confident that once she gets sober she will be the girl I know and able to take care of her son,” Manini said.
“It's not a good feeling to see a superstar returning home after touring overseas. She needs someone to help her as she wakes up early in the morning and starts drinking. She's not even a trace of her former self,” a family member said.
The magazine reported that Crystal has been contacted by groups, DJs, churches and others offering support, and that she is grateful for the love and help.
“The support I've received has been amazing and I'm so grateful for the love. I need prayers,” she said.
