Rise Mzansi has stated its willingness to join other parties in national dialogue on coalitions or to join the proposed Government of National Unity (GNU).
In a statement, the party said it would listen and consult with multiple political parties with the intention of promoting the interests of the people.
Last week, ANC speaker Cyril Ramaphosa announced that the ANC's NEC had resolved to form a government of national unity.
Rise Mzansi spokesperson Gugu Ndima called on all political parties to approach the coming days with maturity and seriousness.
“We encourage all political parties to approach the next seven days with a mature and serious attitude and put the interests of South Africans above all else. Failure to elect a Speaker of Parliament and a President within the constitutional 14-day period could result in an unprecedented crisis,” Ndima added.
The first meeting of the National Assembly must be held within 14 days after the election results are declared.
Ndima said the party would not field a presidential candidate in the National Assembly or a premiership candidate in the Gauteng provincial assembly.
Earlier this week, the DA and IFP expressed interest in joining a government of national unity.
