Jesse Mollett, known professionally as J. Molly, has apologized to fans and supporters following his recent suicide attempt.
The rapper explained on social media that he has struggled with depression for years and has attempted suicide multiple times.
He also slammed those who claim he is seeking fame in the suicide spree.
“Accusing me of doing this for PR or likes is completely vile and ignorant. I have attempted suicide 200 times. I was on the brink of suicide. [nearly successful] “About 14 times. Have I made it public? No. This is the first time I've made it public,” he said.
“I did not commit suicide for attention. I have never written a suicide note in my life. I am committing suicide because I want to die. So please stop making false accusations. [sic]. “
“I am a strong person. I will rise and strive for greatness again. I have Borderline Personality Disorder. We go from extremely depressed to extremely happy in a matter of minutes or hours. Don't mock pain you've never endured.”
J. Morrie expressed gratitude for being alive, raised awareness about depression, and spoke more about his new journey in Christ.
“I thank God I'm still here. I'm here for a reason obviously. I would have died a long time ago, so I'm on a new journey with Christ to find out what that is.”
