Al-Jama'a leader Ganieff Hendrix said he had met with the Umkhonto weSizwe (MK) party and the Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) to discuss how to proceed with talks to form a government. Hendrix said he was confident an agreement would be reached with the ANC.
Hendricks said a meeting was due to be held tomorrow with the United Democratic Movement (UDM), African Transformation Movement (ATM), MK Party, EFF and PAC to map out the way forward.
He says he is opposed to the Democratic Alliance (DA)-backed Government of National Unity and the restoration of so-called white rule.
Elaborating on his discussions with the EFF and MK Party, Hendricks said, “I met with the MK Party last night and the EFF today. They have contacted me to discuss the way forward. We feel that black parties need to work closely together and we need to ensure that black parties do not fail. That's why I believe we can come together. There is a meeting scheduled tomorrow, the first time we are all together in Cape Town, and we will come to an agreement that the ANC can take the lead. However, we can consult with other parties, black parties, to ensure that we achieve black rule in South Africa and that white rule is not restored,” Hendricks said.
