African National Congress (ANC) Eastern Cape president Oscar Mabuyane was unanimously elected Prime Minister. Helen Sauls-August was elected Speaker and ANC Youth League provincial president Vuyo Jali was elected Deputy Speaker.

Mpumalanga ANC chairperson Mandla Ndlovu was also elected as the new prime minister, replacing outgoing premier Lefiloe Mtsweni Tshipane.
Ndlovu was MEC for Public Works and Roads Transport under Mtsweni-Tsipane and has pledged to bring stability to the province and ensure improved service delivery.
Meanwhile, the seventh government's first session is underway with Limpopo provincial legislators taking their oath in Lebowakgomo, outside Polokwane.
Makhoma Makulupetse has been elected as the new Speaker. Minister of State for Health, Dr Phofi Ramathuba, is expected to be elected as the new Prime Minister.
She will be the province's first female chief minister. The Chief Justice of the Limpopo High Court, George Patudi, will preside over the swearing-in ceremony for the provincial assembly members.
Lazarus Mokgosi has been elected Premier of North West Province. Mr Mokgosi was elected at the inaugural meeting of the 7th Government in Mahikeng Provincial Assembly today. He is also the MEC for Social Development in the province.
He is currently the deputy speaker of the African National Congress (ANC) Northwest. Former MEC for Agriculture Desbo Mohono was elected speaker of the provincial assembly, with Tshepo Khoza as deputy speaker.
Mokgosi said his administration would prioritise job creation.
“The first item of the Seventh Administration will be the roll-out of the Workforce Revitalization Programme, which will be coordinated by the Prime Minister's Office in collaboration with the Ministry of Labour and Employment, business, employers' organisations and other social partners. We will overcome all remaining barriers and open up the public service to employment for young people, especially graduates. We will transform the public service into a delivery institution that reflects the democracy of our state.”
